Proposed Wave Location

The proposed wave would be built approximately 30 meters downstream (south) of the Parkhill bridge.

We believe that this location is the perfect place for this project and the reasons are simple. The Grand River has enough flow to maintain at least one surfing wave 10 months of the year and during higher water levels two waves can be maintained.

During flooding, both wave ramps can be lowered to not restrict water flow. A portage path on the west side of the river will allow tubers, paddlers and other river users to go around and easily avoid the wave.

The current wave under the Parkhill Bridge is only surfable about 2-3 weeks of the year. By creating an artificial standing wave it will become a draw for paddlers and surfers from all over Southwestern Ontario for 10 months of the year.
